These are single moulded high density polystyrene hives (160g/litre) providing enhanced insulation properties and strength. They come ready painted and ready to use straight from the box.
We have also embossed the top and bottom of both the brood boxes and supers with rigid plastic.
These hives have the same exterior footprint as a Wooden National Hive.
The Brood Body and Super holds 11 Hoffman frames.

Frames 14×12 x 11 + foundation (flat pack)

14” x 12” National Frames
Our 14”x12” frames are used in British National 14X12 brood boxes and come flat-packed, in packs of 10. They are Hoffman style which means they are self-spacing and require no lug spacers. The dimensions of the frames are:
- Top bar- 17″ x 1 1/16” (431mm x 27mm);
- Side bar- 12″ x 13/8” (305mm x 35mm);
- Bottom bars- 14″ (356mm).
All our 14”x12” frames are 1st quality and contain no knots.
