These are single moulded high density polystyrene hives (160g/litre) providing enhanced insulation properties and strength. They come ready painted and ready to use straight from the box.
We have also embossed the top and bottom of both the brood boxes and supers with rigid plastic.
These hives have the same exterior footprint as a Wooden National Hive.
The Brood Body and Super holds 11 Hoffman frames.

National Poly Ashforth Feeder Blue-Poly Hive Pre-Order Sale
The National Poly Hive Ashforth Feeder is a practical, versatile feeder designed for use with both syrup and fondant. It is compatible with National Poly Hives and standard National Wooden Hives measuring 460 x 460mm.
With a generous 10-litre capacity, the feeder is ideal for providing syrup during periods when your bees require additional feeding.
During the winter months, the Ashforth feeder can also be turned upside down and placed over a block of fondant. This helps create a more sheltered and warmer feeding area above the colony, making it easier for the bees to access their food in colder conditions.

Important: Keep the sliding opening on top of the metal grille closed at all times while feeding. Once feeding has finished, the opening can be used to allow the bees access to clean out the feeder.

This Poly Ashforth Feeder made using the same high density polystyrene as our poly hives. This maintains the internal temperature and helps protect the bees from adverse weather conditions.
The feeder is simple to use. The bees have access to the syrup through a hole in the bottom of the feeder, enabling them to take food efficiently. The bees enter the feeder, take food and then return to the nest which promotes the efficient distribution of food in the bee colony.
