Placed over the hole in the crown board, it allows the bees access through the central pillar. Place the plastic cup over the pillar which stops the bees from being pushed into the syrup.

Note that some drowning of bees may be experienced and in most circumstances is normal. Bees will often get excited by the presence of sugar syrup and rush up to feed, preventing some bees from moving away and drowning.
